This is another of our gardens in Mnichovice. The house was built in 1920s, and went through a complete reconstruction in 2018 – with a a built-in brand new studio and workroom. The client´s family has owned the house ever since and the current owner´s grandfather´s boast was to officially have the most marvellous garden in the entire town of Mnichovice. The client´s wish was to create a garden full of nooks and wow factors. Also, the wish was to reuse the old materials, which used to be either a part of the garden or a part of the house – especially old bricks, stones and staircase tiles. The assignment was a challenge – restoring the former magnificent status of one of the most beautiful gardens around while keeping to and respecting the architecture of the house. Recycled bricks and railroad sleepers were intergrated into the pavement, which cuts through the whole space. There are five nooks with benches and a few smaller artworks yet to be installed. Supporting the house´s architecture and offering a better use of the entire space, a fifteen meter long dry stone wall has been designed and built, entirely from the original stones. The garden was finished in spring 2019.
